Coaching Actuaries is excited to announce two new courses in our growing FSA lineup: GH 101 and GH 201-U. Together, they form the complete sequenced curriculum for the Group and Health Insurance practice area of the FSA pathway, built on the same approach that has helped thousands of aspiring actuaries succeed.

Like all Coaching Actuaries courses, GH 101 and GH 201-U break the material into structured, digestible lessons, so you can build your understanding steadily and confidently. Each course pairs that content with Mastery Score® readiness tracking, Concept Checkers, and forum support from credentialed actuaries to keep you on track.

Whether this is your first Coaching Actuaries course or you're returning after earlier exams, you’ll feel right at home with GH 101 and GH 201-U.

GH 101: Building the Foundation

GH 101 is where the GH journey starts. The course walks you through how group and health products (medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, and group life) are designed, priced, and evaluated. You'll also dig into how these plans are rated, underwritten, and structured as employee benefits.

What you learn here doesn't stay in GH 101. It carries directly into GH 201-U and sets you up for the rest of the FSA sequence. The skills you build, especially around pricing and risk, are the same ones GH actuaries use on the job every day. Visit the GH 101 course to see exactly what's covered.

GH 201-U: Valuation, Reporting, and the Bigger Picture

GH 201-U picks up where GH 101 leaves off. You'll cover how GH contracts are reserved, how financial statements work under both statutory and GAAP accounting, how federal and state regulation shapes the industry, and how major government programs fit into the broader healthcare system.

Finishing both courses means you've completed the full required GH sequence. (Note: The FSA requirement can be fulfilled with either GH 201-U or GH 201-C, but not both.) By the end, you'll see how valuation, regulation, and the healthcare system connect as one big picture. Visit the GH 201-U course to learn more.

You're learning from someone who not only knows the material inside and out but also knows how to teach it.
