What is it? Right Question... Right Time! Adaptive Dynamic Actuarial Practice Tests (ADAPT) is an online testing software designed to adapt to the student's current level. ADAPT is unique because it generates unique exams from a large database of questions and at the same time allows students to take questions that are not too difficult and not too easy. How does it work? Everyone begins taking practice problems at their current level of knowledge, and as the questions are mastered, ADAPT will provide new questions at a more difficult level. The goal is for students to reach exam level difficulty questions and be able to master those questions. This is unmatched by any practice exams on the market today. Who should use ADAPT? Students who want to take practice tests in exam-like conditions. The CBT tool closely simulates the one used by the SOA and CAS. For anyone who is preparing and needs to practice large amounts of problems, ADAPT is the tool for them. Each exam has a large database of questions to draw from. How many questions are in ADAPT? Each exam has a different number of questions to create tests from. Currently* the break down is:

Without ADAPT, I would not have passed any of the three exams I have taken so far. ADAPT provides the right difficulty of question for where you are in your studying, and provides comprehensive solutions after the exam if used in conjunction with the forum.

ADAPT is now iPad ready! We are excited to announce that ADAPT is now fully operational for our iPad users!

We think that the iPad is an ideal tool to use to take ADAPT exams. It provides a large enough screen to comfortably take practice tests as well as review solutions. The iPhone should be able to use ADAPT as well, however, we have not tested this thoroughly and, of course, the screen is smaller. Items to consider if you are using the iPad for ADAPT.

1. In order to go directly to the discussion forum from ADAPT's solution mode, you must allow popups. This can be accomplished in the "Settings" of your iPad.
2. Currently, some ADAPT video solutions are available for P/1, FM/2 and MFE/3F, and all of these videos have now been converted to a supported format. (these are in a different format than the eCourse videos, which are not currently supported on iPad)
3. We are reviewing some ways to improve the formatting so that it is presented optimally on an iPad. As you may guess, supporting multiple platforms and having everything appear pristine is a challenge.
